annie b. was born in Staffordshire, but spent most of her childhood in West Yorkshire, attending Wakefield College of Art, studying graphic design, art and photography, before moving to London at 18, to continue her art studies at Ealing College of Art.
London inspired annie b. She immersed herself into its charm and splendour and went on to have successful careers in advertising, music and television, working in the UK, Europe and the USA. She also travelled widely herself, connecting with different spiritual practises around the world. Staying on Hopi Indian reservations, walking with Aborigine elders and visiting the ancient tribes of Indonesia and Thailand and the Buddhists of India, Tibet & Sri Lanka.
After 15 years she heard her inner voice cry out. It was time to leave London and the media, and to re-connect with herself, her creativity and her spiritual home - Cornwall.
As she walked the many miles of wonderful coastal path and explored the golden sands and woodlands of Cornwall with her golden retriever Saffron, her creativity and inner spirit began to awaken, and her creative confidence was reborn. Her beautiful spirit and creativity now overflows!
She has developed her own unique style and language to express "the joy, love and beauty I see and feel around me. I am inspired by Cornwall and her raw, natural beauty, Goddess energy, Celtic magic and wild yet soothing, aqua-blue ocean. I paint and create with the help of many angels, elementals and light-beings, of which I am truly grateful and honoured."
annie b. also illustrates positive childrens books, cd, dvd and book covers and paints spiritual portraits working directly with the person, or tunes into a photograph. Her organic, free flowing, brightly coloured originals are sought after as they seem to exude love and give the viewer a feeling of well-being.
Her poetry often accompanies her work or can be the inspiration.
